I kept hearing great things about the Tatcha Silk Canvas Primer so naturally, I wanted to try it out. Now I didn’t buy the primer by itself. I had also wanted to try out the Tatch Water Cream and Sephora had a set with a full-size cream, a small primer and a small deep cleanser. The set made more sense to purchase in order to try multiple things out.
Before we jump into the review I just want to let you know I’ve tried this primer multiple times. I applied it with a brush and my fingers. Also, I had tried it with a couple of different foundations. I know some products work better with others and that different techniques help. I did try different things and I felt like I had the same result each time.
Now let us jump into this review and find out if this is a hit or miss.
Price
This primer retails for C$62.00!! That is crazy to me. I didn’t know it was so expensive until I just looked right now lol. Now like I said I got mine in a set. The set I purchased was C$98.00 which I didn’t think it was too crazy because I was getting the full-size Water Cream inside. To purchase it on its own is expensive.

Packaging
The packaging I like and I don’t like for the Tatcha Silk Canvas Primer. I like how it looks itself. It is very clean and elegant looking. Now for what I don’t like. For me, I like a primer I can squeeze from a tub. This is obviously not a big deal its just a preference. I don’t really like any product you need to stick your fingers in because it gets in under my nails.
Now I believe if you were to buy the Tatcha Silk Canvas Primer by itself, not in a set, you would get a small spatula. I don’t know about you, but I lose those so fast. Use a brush is that what you are thinking I should do? I did use a brush and its not a problem. I just wanted to share the small thing I didn’t like about the packaging.
Tatch Silk Canvas Primer Thoughts
It is finally time to tell you what I actually think of this Tatcha Silk Canvas Primer. I’m going, to be honest, I don’t really care for it. It is so expensive on its own I don’t think I would pay for it even if I did like it.
Here is my skin just moisturized Here is my skin with primer and normal foundation routine
Another thing is I don’t think it actually did anything for my skin. It says it is supposed to diminish the look of pores, fine lines and imperfections. For me, I feel like it did none of those things. Now I know I have big pores but I feel like it didn’t even help a little.
Overall I give this product like a 5 out of 10. Maybe even less than a 5. I don’t recommend wasting your money on this. You can find better primers out there. Also, y
