Now Boxycharm is a monthly subscription box for $21.00 (about $34.00 if you live in Canada that includes the shipping) and you get 4-5 beauty items like makeup, skincare and beauty tools. They work with some awesome brands (as you can see in this post) and the box is worth $100.00 or more! So totally worth my money and the April box is pure evidence of that if you ask me. This month in my box I got
Colourpop – Golden State of Mind Eyeshadow Palette ($26.00)
Tarte – Tartiest Pro Glow: Liquid Highlighter ($29.00)
The BrowGal – The Instatint: Tinted Eyebrow Gel ($22.00)
Dr. Brandt – Pores No More Vaccum Cleaner ($47.00)
Adesse – Hi Definition Liquid Lipstick ($24.00)
Colourpop Golden State of Mind Eyeshadow Palette
Is it just me who loves getting palettes in the box? Now I usually like to get a palette with transition shades and such but the colours in the Golden State of Mind Shadow Palette by Colourpop are beautiful (swatches down below).
The pigment is nice and of course, it shows better when you use your finger vs a brush. Now that’s not my favourite thing, maybe because I feel like I have chubby fingers and it just gets everywhere on my eyes. Now the darker shades did show much better with a brush than the lighter ones did. I don’t really have anything bad to say about the palette. I didn’t really have any fallout or anything so it was a hit with me.
BrowGal The Instatint: Tinted Eyebrow Gel
The tinted brow gel with microfibers is nice. It made my brows a little more full and I will definitely grab this for when I’m running out the door and want my brows to be a little fuller and put together without having to use my pomaded or brow pencil. I don’t really have much to say about this product as I haven’t tried a brow gel that has not worked.
Dr. Brandt Pores No More Vaccum Cleaner
I was so excited to see that we got the Dr. Brandt Pores No More Vaccum Cleaner. I had been thinking about buying it myself. Now when I got it, it was smaller than expected. I’m assuming its small because it’s not meant for the full face, just for where you have pores. Which for me is around my nose and cheek area. I used it 4 times so far and I like it. I notice just a little bit of a difference but I’m sure if I continue I will see more results.
Now when I put it on it has like these blue beads and I rub it till they burst and the colour turns blue. That’s when I actually feel the cooling sensation that it says its suppose to have. Overall I like this mask so far and I’m excited to continue to use it.
Also, little tip
Tarte Tartiest Pro Glow: Liquid Highlighter
Now, this Tarte Tarteist Pro Glow was not my cup of tea. First I have to say I’m not the biggest fan of liquid highlighters. I’m not a highlight fanatic in the first place. I prefer a matte face, to be honest. I just find that they are not for me.
When I use a liquid highlight I usually mix a little with my primer or foundation, but when I decided to try it I used it to highlight my cheekbones and nose and it just did not work for me. I found that it was like taking my makeup off underneath and just was not looking cute.
Adesse Hi Definition Liquid Lipstick
Now last but not least the liquid lipstick. I liked the shade I got and I guess it has no name because I didn’t find one on the box or the lipstick itself. The shade itself to me is something I would wear for the day, lunch with the girls or things like that. Not on a date because it does
Overall this lipstick for me is a win. I don’t mind using a lip liner because normally I do anyway, but I like to test without so I know if its a lipstick I can quickly grab on the go or not. Nothing worse than not knowing and be putting your lipstick on out the door and halfway through your day your lipstick start slipping.
